MMDB Community Update
Many are already using this feature intensively – others have overlooked it so far: The Band and Project Management. Today we will explain to you in detail how everything works and how you can optimize your profiles so that you have perfect opportunities for collaboration requests or booking opportunities later on.
What categories are there?
The band/project profile supports the following categories:
- Band
- Project
- Live Show
- Open Mic
- Song Slam
- Jam Session
- Academy
- Commercial Organization
- Collective
- Non-Profit Organization
- Other
How do I create a new band or project?
There are two ways – both work differently:
Path A: Through your Artist Profile
- Enter a name in the Bands/Projects field.
- As you type, you will see <strong>Autocomplete suggestions for existing bands/projects.
- If the name exists: → You automatically send a join request. → The band admin will approve you.
- If the name is new: → A new band/project is created immediately (with prefix NEW:). → You automatically become the band admin. → After saving, you will be immediately redirected to the new band/project profile.
Path B: Through the Band/Project Manager
- Go to Bands/Projects in the main menu.
- Click on “Create New Band/Project”.
- The profile will be created immediately.
- You are automatically the admin of the new entry.
No matter which path you use: As soon as you enter a name, the same Autocomplete with all matching bands/projects will always appear.
Get your band and project profiles in shape!
Profiles will become increasingly important in the future, e.g. for applications for booking or collaboration opportunities in a future version of the MMDB. Therefore, make sure to fill in all fields:
- Image
- Description
- Genre
- Teaser
- Audio Links (Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, SoundCloud)
- Social Media Links
- Contact Options (depending on public/private settings)
The cleaner your profiles are maintained, the more the entire community benefits – and the better you stand in booking inquiries.

A private profile can only be accessed by logged-in users.
Private phone numbers or email addresses are never published.
Band/project contact details are only displayed when the profile is set to Public.
